Are you looking after yourself?

I thought I was, and this morning when I woke up, the first thought I had was: I need to look after myself.

Which brings me to the next reflection.

Do not worry! My basic needs are covered. I eat, I sleep, sometimes I exercise.

What I think my brain and body is trying to tell me is that I am ready for the next step.

Self-care is not just about bubble baths and getting a nice massage (although maybe it is, and I'm neglecting that side of it?).

Self-care is:

self-respect,

self-acceptance,

self-love,

self-forgiveness,

self-trust

It encompasses all the actions we take for ourselves that nobody else can provide. There are only so many excuses you can make to yourself before your true self says: "I need to look after myself."

My goal for the week is to identify where I need to take better care of myself.

Maybe you are wondering how self-care is related to goals and success? Well, the most important asset we have in any endeavour is ourselves. And we cannot achieve success if we don't prioritize our most important asset.

I invite you to think of you as your most important asset. Take some time for yourself, grab your favorite drink, and reflect on where you need to prioritize yourself.
