👉 The Epic Laundry Saga: A Lesson Learned!

Not every battle is worth fighting

Ah, the trials and tribulations of not having a washing machine. When I lived in New Zealand, I often moved houses. One of the places I moved into didn't have a washing machine. Well, it did, but the landlord wanted to "rent" it for an extra fee per week.

The machine was old and cranky, and I refused to pay extra for it. So, I made a bold decision—I could live without a washing machine. I championed the idea of communal laundering. With a laundromat just a few blocks away, who needs a washing machine? I declared war on the system, advocating for everyone to ditch their machines and wash their clothes together in a common launderette. Freedom for the people and all that...😅

Weeks passed, and my grand vision crumbled faster than a poorly laundered sock (no pun intended). The local laundromat was either closed or packed to the brim, and my friends grew tired of being wine-bribed into letting me use their machines.

Then, one fateful day, I arrived at the launderette to find it ablaze (yes, you read that right), firefighters and all. Amidst the chaos, I had an epiphany: perhaps this way of fighting the system wasn’t my best move.

So, I hung up my rebel hat, bought a washing machine, and embraced the modern marvel of laundry convenience. As my clothes swirled in the suds, I raised a glass to wise battles and clean victories. 🍷

Remember, sometimes the best battles are the ones we don’t fight.

Cheers to clean clothes and wise battles! 🍷

🧘🏻‍♀️One of my favourite meditations

I love meditating outdoors, especially by listening to my surroundings. I close my eyes and begin by focusing on the sounds closest to me. Then, I gradually expand my radius of listening, trying to identify as many sounds as possible.

The cool thing about this meditation is that you can do it anywhere and for as long as you want. You'll be amazed by the variety of new sounds you can discover!

Do you meditate? What's your favourite technique?
