How rich are you?
Hello,
I'm finishing the week with a big question:
How rich are you?
When you think of someone who’s “rich,” what’s the first image that comes to mind?
A sleek car, an expensive watch, a sprawling mansion?
That’s what we’ve been trained to believe—society, media, the entire system feeds us this narrative that being rich is about owning more things, wearing status symbols, and flaunting luxury.
And sure, those things can be part of a rich life—but they aren’t what make you rich. In fact, if you’re not careful, they can make you a slave to the system.
Here’s the truth: having expensive things doesn’t equal wealth. If you need to take on debt or stretch your finances to the limit to keep up appearances, then those things are just chains disguised as success.
The system wants you to believe that buying more, spending more, and showing off more is the path to happiness.
Why?
Because the system thrives on keeping you in a cycle of earning, spending, and owing.
But let me ask you this—what if true wealth isn’t about what you can buy, but about the options you have?
The Alternative to the “Rich Life”
Imagine this: instead of chasing material possessions, you chase freedom.
Freedom to decide how you spend your time, where you live, who you work with, and what projects you take on.
Freedom to say no to things that drain your energy and yes to things that make you come alive.
That’s real wealth.
It’s the ability to choose.
The ability to walk away from what doesn’t serve you.
The ability to live life on your own terms, without worrying about financial consequences.
This doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy a fancy car or a luxury vacation if that’s something you want.
But the key difference is, you’re making those choices from a place of abundance, not because you think those things will define you or validate your worth.
Being rich isn’t about the money you spend—it’s about the freedom you create for yourself with that money.
The System Wants to Keep You Hooked
The system wants you to keep believing that material wealth is the goal.
Why?
Because when you’re hooked on that idea, you’re working for someone else’s definition of success, not your own.
You’re caught in a loop of earning just enough to keep buying the next thing—never quite reaching freedom, never truly wealthy in the sense that matters most.
But what happens when you break free from that loop?
When you redefine what being rich really means?
Real Wealth is Having Options
For me, being rich is about having options.
It’s having the ability to choose whether or not I want the fancy car, without that choice determining my value or happiness.
It’s having the option to work because I’m passionate about what I do, not because I need to cover my bills.
Real wealth gives you the power to create the life you want without constantly chasing the next big purchase.
It’s the space to live authentically, on your own terms.
So, What Does “Rich” Mean to You?
Take a moment to think about what being rich means to you. Is it about the things you can own, or the freedom you can create? Is it about accumulating wealth to impress others, or is it about crafting a life that feels meaningful and fulfilling?
Wealth isn’t just about money—it’s about the life you get to live because of how you use that money.
What does being rich mean to you?
