Embracing Chaos, Taking Action Anywhere

Feeling a bit scattered today. I’m about to go on a road trip for a few days. Since returning from Antarctica , my life has been anything but routine.

With each day bringing new people, new places, and a constant state of motion, finding a rhythm has been a challenge. Everything feels a bit chaotic.

I'm trying not to be too hard on myself. I've meditated, stretched, even managed to finish a book I thought I'd never complete. Despite these small victories, my personal projects feel stagnant. For example, crafting a meaningful post requires creativity, which in turn relies on inspiration—something that often comes from routine.

But I'm realising the importance of taking action regardless of my surroundings. It's easy to blame external factors for our inertia, but true progress requires the ability to act in any environment.

If we wait for perfect conditions in order to take action, we will never take action, because the perfect condition is the moment when you collect your wandering thoughts and push through the resistance to take action, and even if it’s not perfect, you write the blog post you said this morning you were going to write.

Waiting for the perfect conditions is a recipe for inaction. The perfect condition is when you make a deal with yourself, stop creating excuses and you start pushing through resistance, seizing the moment, and getting things done—even when it's not ideal, even when you feel a bit scattered.

So, despite the chaos, I'm committing to writing the blog post I promised myself this morning.

Where in your life are blaming external factors instead of holding yourself to your word?
